Purpose: 
The Human Rights Ombudsman is obliged by the law to lay general annual reports before the Parliament about his finding of the facts and steps that have been taken. In this reports the Ombudsman makes suggestions and gives recommendations, opinions and critiques to the bodies which are bound to consider them and respond within the deadline specified by the Ombudsman.
 
In its Annual Reports the Ombudsman also gives the assessment of respect for human rights and legal security in Slovenia and shows as well the specific cases which were brought before him. The target groups are state bodies, local self-government bodies, bodies entrusted with public authority and other organisations or individuals that are dealing with human rights issues.
