This book comes out of the “Think tanks and public policies: Global Dynamics and Local Specifications” conference hosted in  Buenos Aires on the 21st and 22nd of February, 2006. It is a collection of essays and chapters touching on themes, and coming directly, from the conference. It's goal is to enable politicians, specialists and citizens of the region to access to the most recent discussions about think tanks in the world and the region.

The book is divided in three parts and topics: 

1.    Methodological and Conceptual Aspects on the Relationship between Think Tanks and Governments

2.    Think Tanks in Latin America, which gives perspective of the reality of think tanks in Latin America and

3.    Think Tanks in the Río de la Plata, case studies form Argentina and Uruguay
